Add an AI support bot to your website

Ploy builds a support bot that answers from your pages and PloyDB tables, links your contact form when it can’t answer, and stores every conversation in PloyDB. It runs on your Ploy credits, so there is no API key to set up.

How it runs

Ploy runs this Ploybook in 5 phases.

  1. Plan with you

Ploy proposes defaults for what the bot answers, where it hands off, its tone, where it appears, and which model it uses, and explains how credits are spent.

  2. Set up storage

A PloyDB database holds conversations, messages, and a searchable index of your site content.

  3. Build the chat and widget

Server routes answer only from retrieved content, and an on-brand, keyboard-accessible widget labels every reply as AI-generated.

  4. Test on Preview, then publish

Ploy asks a question the site answers, one it doesn’t, and an off-topic one, checks each transcript, and fixes the prompt or retrieval before publishing.

  5. Report and monitor

You get a plain-language summary of how to review conversations and update the bot, plus an optional project that reviews conversations each morning.

Expected outputs

Visitors ask the same questions your pages, FAQs, or docs already answer. You want an on-site assistant without managing a model provider or API keys. You want to read what visitors ask so you can fill gaps in your content.

  • A support bot on every page

A floating chat widget that matches your design system and answers from your own pages and PloyDB tables.

  • A clear handoff

When the bot doesn’t know, it says so and links your existing contact form or email.

  • Every conversation in PloyDB

Conversation and message tables you can read to see what visitors ask and where answers fall short.

  • Predictable spend

Answers spend your Ploy credits as Website AI, up to your workspace’s Website AI limit, where the bot pauses until the period resets.

Yes. A Ploybook is a reusable guide that adapts each run to the inputs you provide. You can run it on demand or customize a workspace copy for recurring work. Review and test that copy before scheduling it. Runs use AI credits, and required services must be connected for the account running the workflow.
