The data you actually get

Every visit, named and contextual.

Each company that lands on your site gets a profile that updates with every visit — what they read, how long they stayed, how often they come back, and how that compares to your existing pipeline.

Firmographics

Company name, domain, industry, headcount, and funding stage on every account.

Weighted page paths

Every page a company viewed, scored by intent — pricing counts for more than blog.

Intent score, explained

A live score with the reason this account is hot right now, not just a number.

Visit timeline

The full trajectory over time, so reps see momentum instead of a single snapshot.

Privacy & compliance

Built on consent, not scraping.

Ploy resolves visitors only when they're U.S.-located and present in an opted-in partner network where consumers explicitly consented to third-party marketing. Every identified contact carries a verifiable consent record — CAN-SPAM compliant, SOC 2 Type II, Spamhaus-aligned, CCPA opt-out honored. Your job as a Ploy customer is to keep three things in place.

  • Opt-out

    Opt-out link in every email

Every marketing email you send to an identified contact needs a clear, working unsubscribe link. CAN-SPAM requires it; Spamhaus enforces it.

    • Disclosure

      Privacy policy disclosure

Update your site privacy policy to disclose that you use a third-party identity graph to recognize business visitors. Ploy provides recommended language you can paste in.

      • Consent

        Cookie banner enforcement

Wire your cookie banner so visitors who decline are excluded from identification. Ploy honors the Do Not Track signal at the resolution layer once the banner is connected.

        Privacy FAQ

        Visitor identification, answered.

Yes. Privacy and compliance are built into Ploy's visitor identification from day one, with multiple safeguards so that identity resolution only proceeds when it is legally permissible.

CAN-SPAM: All identity data comes from an opted-in partner network. Verifiable consent records — timestamp, source, and IP — are maintained for every contact, aligned with Spamhaus best practices to avoid spam traps.

CCPA: California residents can opt out of the sale of their personal information through a dedicated opt-out form. Ploy customers can also flag opt-out requests directly through the established Do Not Sell process.

GDPR: Ploy does not collect or share net-new anonymous visitor data in GDPR-regulated regions such as the EU and UK. If your brand already has an existing relationship with a user — for example someone from Canada or the EU who opted in on your site — that identity can be resolved, but only when the relationship already exists.

Security: Ploy maintains industry-standard compliance with SOC 2 Type II controls. Audit reports and certifications are available on request for Enterprise customers.

        • CAN-SPAM
        • CCPA
        • GDPR-Safe
        • SOC 2 Type II
        • Spamhaus Aligned
From an opted-in partner network of websites where consumers have agreed to share their information for third-party marketing. When one of those consented individuals visits your site, the underlying identity graph resolves the visit to a person and company. No data is purchased from scraped sources, no LinkedIn fingerprinting is performed, and no SDK is installed on visitor devices to capture identifying information.
For net-new anonymous visitors, no — identities are only resolved when the visitor is located in the United States, enforced through geofencing on the resolution endpoint. The exception is when your brand already has an existing relationship with the visitor (e.g. they previously opted in on your site); in that case the identity can be resolved regardless of location.
When a visitor declines cookies on your banner — or signals Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control — Ploy suppresses identification for that visitor. The signal is honored at the resolution layer, not just on the cookie itself, so a declined visitor is never resolved to a person even if they would otherwise match the opted-in network. Your cookie banner is the gate.
Identified consumers can exercise their CCPA rights — including the right to opt out of sale or sharing and the right to deletion — through a public opt-out form maintained by the data provider. Once a consumer opts out, their identity is removed from the network and will not be resolved on any downstream site, including yours. Ploy passes through CCPA requests automatically; you don't need to handle them yourself.
Three things. (1) Include a clear, working opt-out link in every marketing email you send to identified contacts — CAN-SPAM requires it and Spamhaus enforces it. (2) Update your website privacy policy with language disclosing that you use a third-party identity graph to recognize business visitors; Ploy provides recommended language you can paste in. (3) Configure your cookie banner so visitors who decline cookies are excluded from identification — Ploy's Do Not Track integration handles the enforcement once the signal is wired up.
