ChatGPT now builds websites, both with its own Sites feature and through apps from builders like Wix, Hostinger and Lovable. Describe the site you want, and a first version comes back in the chat.
What happens after that first version is where the options split. A site for your business has to match your brand, run on your domain, capture leads and show up in Google, and each route handles that differently. Here’s how they compare, including how to connect ChatGPT to Ploy so it builds pages on your own marketing site.
ChatGPT website builders compared
| Builder | Where the site lives | Custom domain | Editing after launch | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Sites (OpenAI) | Hosted by ChatGPT Sites on a chatgpt.site address | Where available, on a domain you already own | In ChatGPT | A quick site or small app you build and share from ChatGPT |
| Wix GPT | Hosted by Wix | Yes, connected in Wix | In the Wix editor | A simple small business site |
| Hostinger AI Builder | Published from Hostinger AI Builder | Yes, connected when you publish | In Hostinger AI Builder | A simple small business site |
| Lovable | Published from Lovable | Yes, on paid Lovable plans | In Lovable | A web app more than a marketing site |
| Ploy | Hosted by Ploy, with forms, analytics and SEO basics built in | Yes, on your whole domain or on chosen paths of an existing one | Ask Ploy's Agent in Ploy or from ChatGPT, or click the text to edit | A marketing site in your brand that has to bring in traffic and leads |

ChatGPT Sites builds and hosts a site inside ChatGPT
ChatGPT Sites is OpenAI’s own website feature, available on ChatGPT Plus and Pro and in Business and Enterprise workspaces. Mention @Sites or include the word “website” in your prompt, review the preview, then deploy it to get a link. Where custom domains are available, you can connect a domain you already own.
It’s a good fit for a quick site or lightweight app that starts and stays in ChatGPT, such as a resource hub or a shareable pitch.
Wix, Hostinger and Lovable start in ChatGPT, then move to their builders
These apps turn your ChatGPT description into a first version, then hand the project to their own editor, where you make changes, connect a domain and publish.
- Wix GPT asks a few follow-up questions, then opens the site in the Wix editor.
- Hostinger AI Builder creates a site when you tag @Hostinger in a chat on ChatGPT Plus or Team.
- Lovable turns a chat into a website or app when you tag @Lovable, then you keep editing it in Lovable. The app is available to logged-in ChatGPT users outside the EU.
Ploy builds pages on your own site and keeps them growing
Ploy is the AI marketing platform for your website. You chat with Ploy’s Agent, in Ploy or from ChatGPT, and it builds pages on your site, then helps you grow traffic and leads after launch.
- It starts from your brand. Give Ploy’s Agent your website URL and it builds a design system from your colors, fonts and spacing, then uses it for every page.
- It goes live on your domain. On plans with custom domains, publish a whole site on your domain, or serve Ploy pages on chosen paths such as /lp/ while the rest of your site stays with its current host.
- It captures and measures leads. Forms capture every submission and email your team, and built-in analytics show traffic by channel, including visits from AI assistants such as ChatGPT. On Starter and Pro, visitor identification shows the companies behind visits.
- It keeps working after launch. Pages ship with sitemaps, canonical tags and structured data. Ploy’s Agent can research keywords, read your Search Console data and draft new pages and updates for you to approve, and PloyBooks run that work on a schedule.
Connected to ChatGPT, Ploy turns the brief you’re already writing there into a page on your site, or updates a live page when you ask. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before Ploy changes anything.
How to build a website with Ploy and ChatGPT
- Create a free Ploy account and give Ploy’s Agent your website URL, or describe your business.
- Ask for the page or site you need, such as “Build a landing page for our spring webinar.”
- Review it on desktop and mobile and ask for changes in the chat.
- Publish it to your domain, or to a path of the domain you already have.
- To work from ChatGPT, go to chatgpt.com/plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server. Name it Ploy, enter https://ploy.ai/api/mcp, choose OAuth and create it as a plugin. Install it, sign in to Ploy, then type @ in a new chat and select Ploy.
Making changes from ChatGPT works on Business, Enterprise and Edu plans, on the web. On Pro, Ploy can read your workspace but not change it. Guides for other AI tools are on the Ploy MCP page.
Pick the option that fits what the site has to do
- ChatGPT Sites for a quick site or small app you build and share from ChatGPT.
- Wix GPT or Hostinger for a simple small business site you’ll manage in their editor.
- Lovable when you’re building a web app more than a marketing site.
- Ploy for a marketing site that has to bring in traffic and leads, with your brand, domain, analytics and SEO in one place.
