Use cases

WordPress migration, site audit, new design

Sengo is a Quebec City agency that modernizes customer-facing CMS platforms and intranet search for enterprise clients. It also runs Sengo Lab, a series of events that show Quebec SMEs what AI tools can do for them.

Jean-Nicolas Gauthier, Sengo’s founder and CEO, tries Ploy one evening with a simple test: move Sengo’s own WordPress site and give it a new look. By the end of the night, the site is migrated.

An agency site that outgrew WordPress

Sengo delivers large platform implementations for its clients. For its own site, WordPress made sense at the start because it kept costs down, and an agency doesn’t need an enterprise build to market itself.

Two years on, plugins and security upkeep cost more attention than the site is worth. Jean-Nicolas is also looking for tools he can recommend to the SMEs Sengo works with: products that do the whole job, so a small team doesn’t end up managing a stack of half-solutions.

“We basically migrated with Ploy in a night. So I was like, oh my God, this is nice.”

The migration

About 600 pages leave WordPress in one night

Jean-Nicolas asks Ploy’s agent to migrate the site out of WordPress and redesign it along the way. The site has about 600 pages. The migration is done in one night.

The agent finds about 50 issues on the live site

His one condition is that the move can’t hurt Sengo’s visibility in search or AI answers. Before changing anything, Ploy’s agent reads every sitemap and all of the metadata. It finds about 50 mistakes already on the production site, small details such as duplicated words that leave a poor first impression.

The review takes about an hour.

“Your agent found that in an hour. Everything was said and done. I was like, so impressed.”

The result

Sengo goes live after a few evening sessions

With the migration done, Jean-Nicolas moves on to visuals. He fits the work around client projects, and after a few evening sessions over about a week, the new site is live on Ploy. He calls the onboarding “flawless.”

Ploy also recommends bringing Sengo Lab, which had its own website, under the main Sengo domain. Sengo takes the recommendation.

“I really, really love the product. This is charming. I love it. It’s a fresh breath of air. We needed that.”
